If it hasn't been abundantly clear from the lack of posts, I'm retiring this blog.
I know, you were thinking I wasn't posting because shows have been sucking. This would have been a reasonable deduction.
But really, my "other life" is calling and I need to devote time to it and that blog and all the goodness that will hopefully derive in that other life.
Before I go - please take this advice:
Watch anything Whedon.
Watch anything Rob.
Stick with Abrams - he always comes around.
Fey's always golden.
Take 80's glamor-show remakes with a grain of salt.

It's Not Me. It's You.
You're just not that interesting anymore (Desperate Housewives). I don't think you have anything new to offer me (The Ex List). Watching you makes me long for the days when we were seeing other people (Samantha Who in regards to your stars' past stints on 24 and Gilmore Girls). Sometimes, I think you don't respect me anyway (Eleventh Hour). Let's be honest - I no longer respect you (Heroes - honestly, I can't take the Milo-crazy-eye anymore!).
So farewell, terrible and terribly mediocre shows!

On Board With Mentalist
Most other posts of this nature about this show are titled, "Viewers See A Future With Mentalist" or "You Don't Need To Be A Psychic to See Mentalist Has Potential" - I could go on and on. Let's just say I'm on board.
CBS's The Mentalist has made it out of trial viewing and onto the perma-list for the following list of reasons:
1. The women investigators on the show are, for the most part, not morons. When one woman even dares to speak of her personal life in the field, another woman cautions, "It's inappropriate." Yes, thank you Robin Tunney. It IS inappropriate to bring up your dating life when you're at work investigating a murder. Bravo.
2. Simon Baker is...yowza. Easy on the eyes.
3. The network is behind it and has picked up the full season so I'm less likely to be wasting my time.
4. My husband is obsessed with this show. Usually I have to tie him to the couch to get him to watching something with me and he bitches and moans about most of my programming. But he's actually been getting to The Mentalist before I do (which is just inconsiderate, to be honest, but whatever.) So now we'll have at least one show to enjoy together.
5. Did I mention Simon Baker's easy on the eyes? He's also exceptionally charming. Like he's made a deal with the devil charming.

Public Retraction
I apologize.
Nathan Fillion technically is not my boyfriend. He belongs to someone else and I have violated the terms of our "arrangement" by claiming him as my own.
For the record, he never has been my boyfriend. But watch out, E....2009's almost here.
